Bring your steamed white fish to another level by smothering in our Funky Black Bean with Peanut and Miso Chilli Oil. Nothing else needed. But you can elevate the deliciousness even further by giving the fish pieces a pre-marinade with a few additional ingredients.

Steamed Fish with Funky Black Beans


Ingredients

  • 500g white cod (rankin cod) or any other firm white fish

Marinade ingredients

Whisk lightly in a bowl –

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Mince together –

  • 2 tsp black bean, washed and drained
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 fresh red chilli, seeds removed

Method

  1. Prepare the steaming basket by crunching some baking paper and filling the space inside the basket.
  2. In a large wok or steaming pot bring water to boil.
  3. Create the marinade by mixing the minced items into the whisked ingredients.
  4. Then add fish and marinate for 20 minutes.
  5. Add the fish and marinade into the steaming basket and steam for 8 minutes.
  6. Remove to a serving platter, top with Latasha’s Kitchen Funky Black Bean with Peanut & Miso Chilli Oil, coriander and spring onions. Serve immediately over steamed jasmine rice.

ALTERNATE MARINADE: 1 tsp white or brown organic miso, 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey, 1 tsp XO sauce and 1 tbsp butter added to a bowl and whisked well.
